Clement Clarke Moore was an American writer and professor born in 1779. His best-known literary work is ‘A Visit from St. Nicholas,’ although there has been some debate about the poem’s authorship. It was originally published in 1823 anonymously. Today, it’s known more commonly as ’Twas the Night Before Christmas.’
