Dorothea Tanning was a poet, painter, and sculptor. She is best remembered for her surrealist paintings. In the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s, she focused on writing and publishing. Her work appeared in The New Yorker, The Paris Review, and other important publications. She passed away in 2012 at 101 years old.
