Grace Nichols is a contemporary Guyanese poet. Her first collection was published in 1983 titled, I is a Long-Memoried Woman. It won the Commonwealth Prize. She has published several books of poetry and novel for adults. Her poetry is often featured on syllabuses in the UK.
