James Brunton Stephens was a Scottish-Australian poet who is best-remembered for Convict One. He wrote one novel, A Hundred Pounds: A Novelette, during his lifetime. His poetry collections include The Black Gin and Other Poems, Miscellaneous Poems, and The Poetical Works of Brunton Stephens.
