James Kirkup was an English poet who also worked as a translator. He wrote more than 45 books during his lifetime and made use of a wide variety of pen names. Some of his poetry collections include The Drowned Sailor, Refusal to Confirm Last and First Poems, and White Shadows, Black Shadows: Poems of Peace & War.
