Joanna Baillie was a Scottish poet and playwright. She’s known for Fugitive Verses and Plays on the Passions. Her work was appreciated during her lifetime, before her death in 1851. Her work is often associated with that of Anna Barbauld and Walter Scott. Furthermore, her work was published after her brother convinced her that it was a good idea.
