May Theilgaard Watts was a naturalist, poet, and educator. Throughout her career, she won numerous awards, including the Citation Award for Teaching from the American Horticultural Society and the President’s Award from the Du Page Audubon Society. She wrote books and guides to help everyday people understand the plants and landscape of the Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois.
