We use Poetry+ to practise 13+ papers which usually come up with questions about analysing a poem’s writing techniques and effects. To understand a poem requires lots of research into the poet’s life and his situation at the time when he/she wrote the poem. This also needs a thorough understanding of the poetic techniques. For beginners, this can be a daunting task. Poetry+ has done the research to create biographies for poets. The meaning of thousands of poems is in the database. They also come with a detailed analysis. It really helps poetry readers solving lots of the immediate challenges. Having said this, one can always analyse the poem from their own viewpoints because there is no set answers to interpret a poem, but Poetry+ help us to start somewhere to analyse a poem.

Poetry+ has the ability to engage with all persons wanting to know more about poetry and it impact on society today. I have found students who shy away now embrace poetry much more than ever before. I guess the secret is you unique no nonsense approach to showing poetry.

I almost like everything so far, I have not found anything that I dislike. We are about to finish school and I am using Poetry+ to get a kick start for the summer break and beyond.

Poetry+ has helped me to offer revision guides to students, to quickly break down poems into analytical chunks and to deliver coherent and competent lessons due to this. Really has been wonderful.

So many things to like about Poetry+. The analysis is top notch, the links to other poems is great and they are constantly aiming to improve.

To improve, maybe make it more curriculum based for exam boards, this could be a road they could go down with regards to helping schools.

Detailed analyses give breakdowns of all topics relating to a poem, including theme, structure, meter, etc. The site makes self-studying poetry accessible to the masses and dispels the mystery of difficult poems while still leaving plenty to contemplate and question.

The user interface is intuitive and easy to use. You have many resources right at your fingertips!

Sometimes, I get errors on the site (clearing the cache helps), and the like button is a little slow to load. The poetry content is great, though.

I’ve been writing poetry for only a year, and Poetry+ is a valuable learning tool and community.

The contributors provide just the right amount of analysis without being pedantic.
