Alice B. Fogel is an American poet who was Poet Laureate of the state of New Hampshire from 2014 to 2019. She is the author of five poetry collections, including Be That Empty, published in 2007. Her book, Strange Terrain, is a popular and thoughtful guide to appreciating poetry without fully understanding every nuance of it. Her 2015 work Interval: Poems Based upon Bach’s “Goldberg Variations” won the Nicholas Schaffner Award for Music in Literature.
